Gamma Profile A gamma profile is a graphical representation showing how much dealer gamma is modeled for all different levels of spot price. The primary meaning of gamma is an acceleration in directional exposure, and therefore what a gamma profile shows us is where directional exposure is likely to pick up the most. At such levels, dealers must engage in more intense hedging (rebalancing) activities, and these end up establishing high-probably levels of support and resistance. We update this model each market day for our subscribers at least once, which includes annotated help navigating it with by identifying the Put Wall (major support below), Call Wall (major overhead resistance), Zero Gamma (the inflection point of positive and negative market gamma), the Volatility Trigger™ (the point at which bearish feedback loops are modeled to kick in beneath this level), Absolute Gamma (the largest gamma level based on call gamma minus put gamma), combos (powerful support and resistance resulting from analyzing the combined OI of ETFs and index options), and large gamma levels (where we would expect the price likely to slow down or reverse).
