Advanced: Understanding Level Strength Through Liquidity

The thicker, darker red horizontal lines show a concentration of limit orders (high liquidity). The price tends to play ping pong in between these levels, allowing for some mean reversion trading, and also support/resistance setups on either side of these levels. If persistent, and uninterrupted as a horizontal line, these high liquidity nodes have more of a magnetic effect. However, if the liquidity is not persistent, meaning that it has gaps in the horizontal line, then it is indicative of spoofing (insincere bids or offers that were never intended to be filled) and can spook the price and repel it.

Regarding the bubbles, the red bubbles are volume (total amount of trades) hitting the bid (selling volume) and the green bubbles are volume hitting the ask (buying volume). The larger the bubble, the more volume. Volume is often used as a trigger for trading setups and serves as excellent confirmation that a move is real and that it has substantial market interest.

Bookmap is also able to show SpotGamma levels directly in a column in the form of cloud notes, such as combos, Zero Gamma, and the Volatility Trigger™. These show up and update automatically right inside Bookmap. Cloud Notes are also available on other popular charting and trading platforms such as NinjaTrader.
